Hey guys. Sorry it’s been awhile since our last message.
We wanted to update you all on the progress of the album release. I know it’s been taking quite some time and a few of you have been getting frustrated, as have we! I’d like to explain what’s been happening and keep you guys in the loop!
We were meant to be spending our summer playing alot of shows over in Vietnam, which was also meant to be paying for the release of our debut album ‘Breaking The Silence’ for when we got back. Unfortunately Vietnam got cancelled on us five days before we were due to leave, which then changed our entire release plan…as we had no money, and believe me…it costs quite some cash to record, mix, master and release an album! We didn’t want to rush it or put something out for the sake of getting it out if it wasn’t ready. I can now tell you, IT’S READY! We’ve all been working really hard to get everything together and we now have 300 limited edition albums that will be onsale at the next couple of shows and through our online myspace in just under two weeks time. The limited edition copies will be Gold, personally signed by each band member and will be a cheaper price than the actual release. There is still no definate date for the main release as we’re still scraping our pockets to get the booklet made, but we can promise it will be no later than November, but in the meantime we hope you enjoy the limited edition copy and want to thank every one of you for your patience! You guys rock. I will send another mail out when the online store goes up. In the mean time, you can listen to three full album tracks on our Facebook ‘BandPage’ tab. www.facebook.com/thecraveband
The albums will also be onsale at the following shows -
September 11th - Newbury Corn Exchange - http://www.cornexchangenew.com/events/event_detail/Newbury_Rock_School/
September 20th - London Water Rats - http://www.themonto.com/events/view/2016/The+Crave-Monday+20th+September+2010
We will be touring heavily again from November in support of the album and hope to see you guys along the way!

I recently saw The Crave at SOS Fest (review here) and yet again they put on a storming show. Sadly, I wasn’t able to interview them, but Ryan was kind enough to give me this email interview for those of you who are dying to know what they’re up to next!
Last time I spoke to you guys was December and it seems like EVERYTHING has happened since then, what’s been the most exciting experience for you guys?
We’ve done some pretty cool things since we last spoke! We started the year with a tour alongside our friends ‘Heavens Basement and Dear Superstar’, then hopped onto a tour with Flyleaf, played a show with Feeder for Harley Davidson and then played to about 12,000 people with the mighty Status Quo! All whilst trying to finish our record….which I’m pleased to say is FINISHED!
You’ve very recently played with Status Quo, what was that like?
To be honest….it was amazing. Those dudes have been playing together for 40 years and if someone told me a few years ago when this band started that at some point along this crazy journey we’d open for the guys who opened Live Aid to the whole world, I’d have told you to f**k right off. But we did, they were amazing, the crowds were amazing and we loved it.
What does the next few months hold for you guys, when can we expect to see you next?
Well quite randomly we’re about to jet off to Vietnam for 6 weeks to play a residency at the Hard Rock in Ho Chi Minh city. It’s going to be fun but very intense, it’s 80 shows in 4 weeks, 6 days a week, 3 sets a night, and to top it off…it’s monsoon season. But we can’t wait for the experience, we’re going to stay an extra week to just chill out at the end of it and sit on a boat. We get back in September, release the album into UK stores then hit the road again!
A year from now, where do you all want to be musically?
I would like the album to be doing really well, getting bigger support tours, playing bigger headline shows and be writing for album number 2. I’d also love to start planning a gig on the moon.
Who’s been your fave band to play with since you have been together?
There’s been some pretty unbelieveable bands like Deep Purple, Buckcherry, Theory Of A Deadman, but my favourite…and I think I speak for all of us here was when we toured the whole of Europe with Shinedown. It was our first big tour and we had so much fun. We became real good friends with the Shinedown guys and have been in touch ever since. We’re hoping to do some more stuff with them in the near future.
If you had the choice, who would you most like to tour with?
These are the aims…AC/DC, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Nickelback.
What’s the most embarrassing moment you’ve ever had on tour?
Probably the last show we played with Shinedown in Vienna Austria. Little did we know but the guys played an epic prank on us and before the doors opened they covered all of our gear, amps, drums, monitors, mic stands…EVERYTHING, in hardcore gay porn. In full view of the crowd too. We walked out onstage and all we could see was raging hard ons everywhere. Not only that but when we started playing Shinedown then started to throw a bucket load of ping pong balls at us from sidestage. They found this very amusing, but it was all cool when they very kindly brought shots of Jager onto the stage and drank with us infront of 2000 people halfway through our set.
Have you seen your fan base noticeably growing over the past few months?
Yes definately, the support tours have been brilliant. I think when you’re a support band playing infront of a few thousand people that have never heard your songs before, you have a hell of a job to do to get them on your side. We’ve been pretty lucky in that people seem to like what we’re doing.
Are you feeling positive about where you are at the moment?
Very.
So there you have it! Lots of very exciting things going on, and I can’t wait until these guys are back in the country and touring again. The album is promising to be brilliant, so make sure you pick up a copy of that just as soon as you can!
Felicity Hall.
The Crave - Take A Look Around
We are doing a residency at the Hard Rock Cafe in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam during the whole of August 2010. For 6 nights every week we will play 3 sets. That’s a hell of a strain on vocal chords. So we have decided to give all the band members a chance to take the spotlight and take lead vocals. Here’s CJ doing his best Fred Durst impersonation!
Enjoy,
Carlos x
Hey guys. Had our first rehearsal for Vietnam today. For those of you that don’t know, we’re heading out to Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam for the whole month of August to rock out at the Hard Rock Cafe every night! We’re going to throw a few different covers in the set as it’s 80 shows in four weeks, and we’re going to get pretty bored of or own ;) We played around with classics such as Enter Sandman, You Really Got Me, My Hero, Slither amongst many others, it was great fun!
We have been told that August is the middle of Monsoon season so we won’t see much sun but we’re really excited about the experience. The album will be released upon our return.
I’ll be keeping this blog going whilst we’re out there so keep checking back for updates! Hope everyone is well and looking forward to seeing you all soon.

We’re so nearly finished making this album now, I can almost see the finish line! The songs are sounding massive and the artwork is looking great. Thank you all for being so patient with us during this process, we want it to be the best we can possibly make it. I think we did it. More to come soon….Rx
